Summer Sailing Schedule

This will probably be our LAST summer sailing in Chicago.  By this time next year we hope to have our own boat in South Carolina and be sailing ALL YEAR LONG.

Rita and Mike will be lease-sharing a 33-foot Beneteau sailboat this summer.  The boat, Pendragon, is one of five boats in the Dragon fleet owned by Fairwind Sail Charters (www.fairwindsail.com).  Pendragon is docked at beautiful Burnham harborWe have 14 sailing sessions of five or more hours each spread over the summer months.  It is so much fun that we would like to share the experience with you too.  Listed below are the dates and times that we will have the boat this summer.  If you are interested in going with us just pick your date and give us a call.  It is a first-come, first-served system so decide early and call us soon.  Sailing is very dependent on the weather and we may have to cancel on very short notice.  The time will be rescheduled if we miss one.  The time slots are mornings/afternoons with usually lots of sun, great views of the city, and beautiful blue Lake Michigan or evenings where you get to see gorgeous sunsets and the city come alive at night.  The winds are calmer in the evening and the stars breathtaking.

When you go with us the time line goes like this: Meet the Mayfields at their house one-hour before the sail time (we can also meet at the dock if that is more convenient for you).  Load up the gear and sailors and drive into Burnham harbor (by Soldier field and the Aquarium).  Board the boat and sail for five or more hours.  Dock the boat and come back home.  We are also open to making the day a little longer with a meal downtown or a sightseeing trip…encourage us.

The boat accommodates six people (4 plus the Mayfields) and small kids (under 12) are discouraged.  No pets are allowed on the boat.  When you call we will discuss what to bring with you.

Sailing is an adventure and yes, we are careful and we do know what we are doing.  We really hope that you will be able to find some mutual time to join us.  Our phone number is (630) 852-7223 (home) or (630) 476-7223 (cell) and we have voicemail so talk to it.  Hope for warm breezes from the south!!!!                                        Rita and Mike
