| Ayutthaya - this is the old capital of Thailand.
It was sacked by the Burmese about 300 years ago. The Thais built a new capital downstream and called it Bangkok. |

| Best Picture - this is simply the best picture of our trip. The foreground has a painting of the temple in the background. | Buddha - 95% of Thailand is Buddhist. This picture shows the inside of one of the temples where the Thais come to worship. Buddhism appears to be a very personal religion. Worship is done by the individual, not coordinated mass gatherings. |

| Elephant - This is Tong Bai the Elephant. He gave us an hour ride through a forest preserve and beach. I think I would have been happy with 10 minutes. Once I got on, I wanted to get right off. | Temple - this is taken in the compound of a royal temple, meaning it was built by the royal family. The two things the Thais respect most are Buddha and the King. |
